Ranveer preps with Kapil Dev

The Simmba actor’s practice video got an encouraging response from his wife.

Up and about for his next film, ‘83, actor Ranveer Singh is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to preparing for the film. Essaying the role of former captain and cricket legend, Kapil Dev, the actor is practicing hard to get the correct feel and nuances of Dev’s playing style. Since the practice began, Ranveer has been sharing pictures and videos of his practice with the man himself.

While an earlier video showed Ranveer singing Altaf Raja’s Tum To Thehre Pardesi, with the entire ‘83 crew joining him, his latest video gives us a peek into his practice sessions.

In the video, a gloved and padded Ranveer Singh can be seen standing in the corner of the net, observing legendary Kapil Dev play his iconic Natraj Shot. “Workin’ the #NatrajShot with the Man Himself #KapilDev @83thefilm #blessed #journeybegins @kabirkhankk (sic),” he captioned the video.

The video garnered a quick reply from his wife, Deepika Padukone, who commented, “make the most of it...these moments will never come back!im soo proud of you!??(sic).”

The film, ‘83, narrates the story of Team India’s historic win at the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
