He is currently basking in the massive response to the trailer of ‘Raees,' which was released on Wednesday.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dear Zindagi' did good business at the box office.

Mumbai: Despite his first release of the year, 'Fan', failing at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan's performance earned him immense appreciation from critics and fans.

He then followed it up with a highly influential supporting role in Gauri Shinde’s ‘Dear Zindagi’.

The actor, who’s basking in the massive response to the trailer of ‘Raees’ currently, however, revealed that his presence from the ‘Dear Zindagi’ climax had been edited out.

While speaking to DNA, he said, “It’s like, ‘Look, I just want to act. And I’ve always wanted just that much’. You can ask Gauri or Alia, too. Did I ask what my role is? Did I ever say the scene is not right? The climax scene in the film had me which they removed. I didn’t feel bad. Instead, I felt they did the right thing because it was getting too long anyway. I have never questioned any film. I just want to participate, be an actor and just be happy about it.”

SRK, who also has Imtiaz Ali and Aanand L Rai’s next films in his kitty, also commented on his choice of films, saying, “Nobody has done as many different roles as I have... Some people are like, ‘Oh this film is making only Rs 80-90 crore, it’s not Rs 200 crore’. I mean really, man? People don’t even realise that to be in a commercial space I am in, where I garner so many eyeballs, so much money, so much at stake, so much business, so much name and fame and still within all that, to be able to do what you feel like in the morning, it does take a little bit of gentleness in you, if not bigness."

‘Raees,’ which will be his next release, is now slated to come out on Janurary 25, clashing once again with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’.
