After raising objections against several films for sex scenes, the filmmaker didn't have any issues backing an erotic film.

Pahlaj Nihalani comes out of his sabbatical from films by presenting the Raai Laxmi starrer erotic film 'Julie 2.'

Mumbai: It is often said that in Bollywood, nothing stays permanent.

While it is normal to see friendships and equations changing every Friday following the success or failures of films in the industry, we have now seen a Bollywood celebrity changing his image within no time.

We are talking about none other than former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani, who was ‘sacked’ last month.

The controversial ex-chief, who earned the moniker of ‘sanskaari’ after suggesting some 'bizzare' cuts during the course of his two-year stint has changed colours like a chameleon.

Nihalani, who had raised objection to the word ‘intercourse’ in ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’, demanded trimming a kissing scene in James Bond film ‘Spectre’ and had issues with sex scenes in numerous films including the recent ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ or 'Lipstick Under My Burkha', suddenly doesn’t see anything wrong with the Raai Laxmi starrer erotic film ‘Julie 2.’

In fact, Nihalani was so impressed by the film when director Deepak Shivadsani showed it to him that he said, "Yeh film ab meri hai,’ and will be presenting it."

Explaining his decision, he told Mumbai Mirror, “Julie 2 should be given an ‘A’ certificate without any cuts. There is no vulgarity, obscenity or even a language problem. This is a hot seat, you have to be careful with guidelines which are perfect and only the rating system we require.”

He also added, “My family loved Julie 2, it’s a bold thriller about how talented people come into the industry and then are forced to compromise. It’s a good expose with a message for aspiring actors who come from across the country and don’t get the right people or platform.”

Incidentally, Nihalani was trolled several times for his ‘sanskaari’ attitude during his reign as the CBFC chief as several of his own films like ‘Andaz’ and ‘Aankhein’ had suggestive scenes and dialogues.
