Rajkummar Rao and Kangana Ranaut, who last shared screen space in Queen, are doing another project together. Talking about the film and his relationship with Kangana, the actor says, “Kangana and I share the Queen connection. We became friends during the shoot of that film, and we still have a great rapport. We’re currently doing a film called Mental Hai Kya, which is almost complete. We just have a little bit left to shoot.”

The actor is all praise for his firebrand co-star. “Kangana is a thinking actor. She always takes every character of hers very seriously. She is fearless too! Look, how wonderfully she played Datto in Tanu Weds Manu Returns, with her false teeth and short hair. That’s a very difficult thing for an actor to do. No one else would want to look like that on screen. When you have a co-star as talented as Kangana, your performances also become better and more exuberant,” he says.

Considering that Rajkummar himself is seen an exceptional performer, was there ever a sense of competition between the two? “There has never been any competition between us. We’re not participating in a wrestling match, after all. While we’re acting, we’re not trying to prove a point. I never harbour such feelings. When you share screen space with a great performer, you perform equally well,” he says.
