A biopic on Azhar

I was taken aback when I read that a biopic has been made on Mohammad Azharuddin, the flamboyant cricketer whose career was rudely cut short by reports that he was involved in match-fixing. I say “taken aback” because Azharuddin does not merit the stature being conferred on him unless we factor in his off-the-field antics and his marriage to actress Sangeeta Bijlani. He was a great cricketer, but making a film on him is a bit too much.
