You’ve had your oak-aged Scotch ale and wine, now how about some vodka too Absolut has launched a new oak-aged vodka, which is available at select locations all over the world. It is expected to reach India by August 2016.

Reports state that the new expression is a blend of original Absolut vodka with oak-aged and oak-macerated Absolut.

As for the oak itself, it is of Swedish, French and American origin and includes a mix of Bourbon casks, new and toasted barrels.

Absolut’s bewers have said that the new expression is an attempt to “balance the smoothness of vodka and the character of brown spirits”. It is described as having a “smooth and subtly smoky flavour, with notes of toasted oak, vanilla and caramel”.
