Continuing his attack against chief minister Arvind Kejriwal over the unnecessary money spent on publicity under the name of odd-even scheme, senior BJP leader Vijay Goel announced that he will leave his residence on an odd-numbered car for Parliament annexe on Monday.
The Rajya Sabha member and former Delhi BJP president said, “In order to protest against the unnecessary money spent on Mr Kejriwal’s publicity under the name of odd-even scheme, I will leave my house in an odd car on Monday.”
”Paying the fine for violating the odd-even is a symbolic protest against the corruption being practised under the garb of the scheme. The success or failure of the scheme is not in the hands of the AAP and BJP. The final verdict will be that of the public,” he added.
On Friday, Mr Goel had announced that he will break the road rationing scheme and pay the penalty of Rs 2,000. After Mr Goel’s announcement, Mr Kejriwal had said the RSS and BJP want the odd-even to fail, but Delhi will fail the BJP yet again.
Mr Goel said that he is not against the odd-even scheme, but against the gross misuse of public funds amounting to crore of rupees to publicise the chief minister and plaster his photograph everywhere in the city and beyond.
