Technician attacked with rod in road rage

In an incident of road rage, a lab technician, Pradeep Chauhan, was attacked with an iron rod when his car accidentally hit the vehicle of the accused from behind in south Delhi on Saturday evening.

The victim, who works as a lab technician with For-tis Hospital in Gurgaon, was on his way home with his wife and kids when the incident happened near Qutub Minar metro station.

Vineet Kumar, the accu-sed, was arrested and a ca-se under relevant sections has been registered against him, the police said.

The accused, a hairdresser, was enraged after Mr Chauhan’s car accidentally hit his car from behind.

“There was a huge jam and cars were moving really slowly. When there was a red light, the owner of the car moving ahead applied emergency brakes and my husband also applied brak-es. My husband’s car accidentally touched the vehicle ahead,” said Pradeep’s wife, Anjana. She said that the owner of the car ahead came out of his car in anger and started abusing.

“Even though me and my husband apologised and told him we are ready to pay the damages, he went back to his car and took out a iron rod and hit my husband two-three times on head and shoulder,” she added.
