Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay said on Tuesday that the news reports related to city minister Satender Jain’s financial transactions indicate towards “hawala” or “blackmoney” rotation.

Mr Upadhyay pointed that after Mr Jain’s admission that he has had dealings with the disputed companies, not much remains to be inquired. The minister’s statement that the investments he made were before the elections does not undermine the gravity of his economic offence.

Mr Upadhyay alleged that Mr Jain and Mr Kejriwal had close relations since 2010 and the way the chief minister has today tried to give clean chit to his minister, it seems he always knew about such deals. Perhaps Mr Kejriwal, who was a deputy commissioner of income-tax at that time, gave legal advice to how to cover up such dubious deals.

Mr Upadhyay claimed that Tuesday’s revelation has exposed one more black face of the Aam Aadmi Party, but it doesn’t surprise people. “When this party was running campaign for the 2015 Assembly election, at that time too, stories of hawala funding had come out and a few days back, unaccounted assets worth Rs 130 crore including cash, were recovered from AAP MLA Kartar Singh,” said Mr Upadhyay.

Today when the names of many disputed business men have come out, sources tell one of them is very close to a businessman who had last year offered his property to Mr Kejriwal,” said Mr Upadhyay.

BJP national secretary Sardar R.P. Singh said that it is a clear case of converting blackmoney into white with the help of hawala operator from Kolkatta who was operating 136 companies from a single room.
