Sonia Gandhi assures full support to Duta over agitation

A delegation from Duta, under the leadership of former Duta and Federation of Central University Teachers’ Associations (FEDCUTA) president Aditya Narayan Misra, met Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday and apprised her of the serious developments which have arisen out of the third amendment of UGC Gazette Notification. The Congress president, along with her party, has extended full support to Duta against the ongoing agitation.

“Because of the notification, almost 4,500 teachers of DU and around one lakh teachers in the state and the Central universities across the country have already become jobless. The delegation apprised her of the present situation that shall ultimately destroy the public-funded universities across the country,” said Rajesh Jha, a member of Duta.
