A 26-year-old mentally ill architect engineer who had been missing for a week was reunited with his family by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday.
Sources said the missing architect, is a resident of Kalyanpur, West Medinipur, West Bengal. He was frequently roaming at metro stations from Huda City Centre to Qutab Minar Metro stations in the unpaid area since August 29.
Whenever a duty personnel approached him, he ran outside the metro premises. “He had become a suspect in the eyes of the security personnel as he was found roaming in suspicious conditions. We had to be on our toes to catch him, but he managed to slip away each time,” a source said.
The CRPF had to come out with a plan to catch him. On Tuesday at about 3 pm a CCTV footage observer noticed that the man was sitting on the stairs at Qutab Minar metro station. He immediately informed his senior officials about the said person and a team of CISF personnel apprehended him in no time. During the inquiry it was learnt that he was not a suspect, but a mentally-ill person who had ran away from his family. One of the CISF team members made the man call his family over the phone. During the communication with his father, it was revealed that the man had been missing since last one week from Maharani Bagh. His family had also lodged a missing complaint at sector 92 police station, Gurgaon. The CISF handed over the mentally-ill man to his father.
