Man killed for slapping friend’s kin
A 25-year-old youth was stabbed to death allegedly for slapping the younger brother of his friend in northwest Delhi’s Haiderpur area.
A 25-year-old youth was stabbed to death allegedly for slapping the younger brother of his friend in northwest Delhi’s Haiderpur area.
The deceased, Shamsud-din, was stabbed with a knife on Monday evening while he was sitting with five-six other men from the area, the police said.
Shamsuddin’s family liv-es in Mongolpuri, but he had a jhuggi in Haiderpur and would come there of-ten, said a police officer.
On Monday evening, Shamsuddin was sitting with five-six other men from the slums when a fight started between him and Mohit.
The latter accused Shamsuddin of slapping his younger brother Narender and picking up fights over small issues, the police said. This resulted in a knife fight and Shamsuddin was killed. Guddu and Suraj, who were accompanying Mohit, have been arrested, while Mohit is absconding, said the officer. “We are trying to ascertain out of the three accused who stabbed Shamsuddin. Mohit is on the run currently,” said the officer.
Shamsuddin used to pick up fights often and cases of physical assault and robbery were registered against him.
