Man held for beating mother, 65, to death

A 45-year old man was on Saturday arrested for allegedly beating his elderly mother to death in Noida on Saturday. The mother succumbed to her injuries in a hospital.

The accused had hit his mother with iron rods and left her with a broken skull and bruised face on Thursday. The relatives and neighbours rushed the victim to a private hospital where she died on Saturday.

The accused, on the other hand, registered a case against his teenaged son for attacking the elderly woman. The accused has been identified as Krishna Kumar (40), a resident of Barolla village.

The police said that the man assaulted his mother three days ago. He was under the influence of alcohol at the time of incident.

The police said that the man lived with his elderly mother and a teenage son and has a daughter who lives in the village. His wife had left the house last year as he tortured her regularly under the influence of alcohol.

The accused also thrashed his children frequently. The police said that Krishna’s 15-year-old son had left home last week over the regular beating. On Thursday evening, Krishna came to know that his son was hiding in the local park. He went there and brought his son home and started beating him.

Krishna’s mother, Shaku-ntala (65), heard the boy scream and came to his rescue. “Krishna hit his mother with an iron rod and left her with fractures in skull and jaw. His son fled from the spot after the incident,” the police said.
