In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old man was allegedly thrashed by his wife and brother-in-law resulting in his death in West Delhi’s Mayapuri area on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Dhirendra Bhadoria, who lived in Sagarpur area and had gone to his in-laws place at Mayapuri Phase II. The police said Dhirendra had a drinking habit. On Thursday night, when he went to his in-laws house, he got angry as his brother-in-law did not touch his feet to pay respect.

“Dhirendra had gone to persuade his wife, who had left home six months back and lived with his brother allegedly due to his drinking habit, to come back home,” said an officer.

When his brother-in-law Gopal did not touch his feet, Dhirendra abused him. This angered Gopal and his sister Geeta, who then started hitting Dhirendra.

“During the scuffle with his wife and brother-in-law, Dhirendra suddenly collapsed on the ground” said the official. He was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Dhirendra was reportedly suffering from TB and was physically weak, which could have led to his death, said the police.

“We have sent his body for post-mortem. There was no external injury on his body,” said the police.
