Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay on Friday said Chief Minister Kejriwal came to power by promising to open 500 schools in Delhi, but he has not opened even a single new school in Delhi till date. Instead his government is opening “bar shalas” (bars) in place of “pathshalas” (schools) in Delhi.

In a letter to the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, Delhi BJP media in-charge Praveen Shankar Kapoor has drawn his attention towards the “bar shalas” being opened in Delhi in the name of government wine shops. “These bar-shalas have already been opened at six places and the board on the door says “Swagat Ka Samay” 11am to 12.30pm as if it is not the timing of a bar but a “sankirtan” programme. BJP strongly objects to the naming of these bars as Bar Shala because some how it ridicules the word Path Shala,” Mr Kapoor has written, demanding that the L-G should immediately take action against it.
