The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government will issue “more” advertisements about the odd-even car rationing scheme, city transport minister Gopal Rai said on Monday, noting that all the money required for the scheme will be spent as it is the matter of people’s life.

Reacting to the BJP’s allegation that the AAP government was spending huge funds on odd-even scheme advertisements, he said, “We are not doing it for ourselves, we are doing it for the people of Delhi. We will advertise it even more and spend all the money required for the odd-even scheme because it is the matter of people’s life in Delhi.”

Mr Rai, who met BJP Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Goel on Monday morning to request him not to violate the scheme which he did later and paid a fine of '2,000, alleged that the BJP was trying to “fail” Delhi and its people.

“Everyone, including the schoolchildren, are working for the success of the scheme while Mr Goel chose to violate it, which is very unfortunate. This thinking of the BJP is not proper, they are trying to fail Delhi and its people,” he said.
