In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Union home ministry transferred about three dozen officials of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre at a recent joint cadre authority meeting held in Goa. Many of these officials are the ones who had been at loggerheads with the AAP government in Delhi.
City’s principal secretary (power) Shakuntala D. Gamlin, who was currently on child care leave for six months, will be the new chief secretary of Arunachal Pradesh. A 1984 batch IAS officer, Ms Gamlin will replace her batch-mate Ramesh Negi — one of the contenders for the post of chief secretary of Delhi.
A 1985 IAS officer, Mr Anindo Majumdar, will be new chief secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. A 1979 batch IAS officer, Mr Anand Prakash, has been transferred back to Delhi.
Secretary (environment) Ashwini Kumar, a 1992 batch officer, has been transferred to Goa. A 1990 batch IAS officer, Mr Jitendra Narain has been transferred from Delhi to Arunachal Pradesh. He had not been assigned any departments for the past six months.
Principal secretary (GAD) Arvind Ray, a 1984 batch IAS officer, has been transferred to Mizoram. A 1996 batch officer, Ms Geetanjali Kundra, who is holding the charge of director in the city’s women and child welfare department, has been transferred to Mizoram.
Principal secretary (finance) Sanjiv Nandan Sahai, a 1986 batch IAS officer, has been transferred to Goa. Food and supplies commissioner Sanjiv Khirwar, a 1994 batch officer, has been transferred to Anadaman and Nicobar Islands.
A 1988 batch officer, Mr Dharmendra Sharma, has been transferred from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi. A 1994 batch officer, Mr Ashish Chandra Verma, has been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh. Madhu K. Garg of the 1982 IAS batch has also been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh.
Among other officers who have been transferred are Gobind Jaiswal of 2007 batch to Goa, Blaklunga of 2003 batch and Harleen Kaur of 2012 batch to Mizoram, Himanshu Gupta, Sonal Swaroop and Prince Dewan (all of 2012 batch), Kashish Mittal and Danish Ashraf (both of 2011 cadre) and Satyendra Singh Dursawat have been also been transferred to Arunachal Pradesh.
