A broadcast journalist was allegedly harassed by a group of four men who passed lewd remarks and made obscene gestures at her as they drove alongside her vehicle on the southern stretch of Ring Road on Wednesday evening.

Undeterred, the journalist managed to film their actions and also ensured one of them was arrested by chasing their car. The woman, who is on her 20s, told the police she was on her way to her Noida office from Vasant Kunj, where she had gone for a shoot, when she realised that a white car with four men seated inside was tailing her. It was around 6.30 pm and on a busy road near Hyatt Hotel that she spotted the other vehicle. Within moments, the car drove parallel to her vehicle and one after the other the occupants started making obscene gestures and passing lewd remarks at her. The victim was accompanied by two colleagues — a driver and a cameraman — at the time of the incident. The cameraman stepped in to rescue her. “At this point, there was some deterrence and they were quick to roll up the windows. Our vehicle now gave them a chase. Panicked, three out of the four men jumped out of the car and disappeared taking advantage of the crowded road,” according to the statement filed by the journalist. The chase, however, continued and they managed to intercept the vehicle near Andrews Ganj bus stop, forcing the driver to alight.
