In a major relief to students who are not able to complete their education after Class 8 due to age limit and several other reasons, the Directorate of Education (DoE) has decided to introduce a correspondence school option for Class 9 from the next academic session.

At present, students are only able to pursue their correspondence studies for Class 10 and 12.

“There are students who drop out of school or do not go to school due to various reasons., This move will help such students continue their studies,” said a DoE source.

The classes will begin from the next academic session and the new correspondence school would open doors for such students who are not able to meet the age criteria in regular schools during admissions.
