A Mumbai-based businessman was robbed of his watch worth Rs 40 lakh and one lakh cash by his female friend in a posh five-star hotel, the police said on Friday. The incident happened last week when the man, who is in his late forties, had come down for a business trip to Delhi, said a senior police official.

The man called his friend to Claridges Hotel, where he was putting up, said the official, adding that the duo stayed in the room. While the man was asleep, his friend vanished with his watch and cash. When he woke up, he contacted the police and a case was registered, said the official.

The man had befriended the woman recently and had her phone number and name that he has shared with the police, he said. The police is scanning the CCTV footage from the hotel to gain clues of the woman and whether she had any accomplices, said the officer, adding that they are also in the process of verifying whether the woman had told her real name to the man.

Meanwhile, the special cell of Delhi police arrested three persons involved in the supply of illegal arms in Delhi, UP, MP and Haryana. The police has recovered 13 sophisticated pistols of .32 bore with 13 magazines, 10 spare magazines and 50 live cartridges from their possession.
