Going by the number of complaints and pending Vigilance department enquiries, it seems that the Building department is the most corrupt one in the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).

Going by the number of complaints and pending Vigilance department enquiries, it seems that the Building department is the most corrupt one in the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC). Out of a total 885 complaints received with NDMC’s Vigilance department, 554 were against officials and staff of the Building department. The civic body has, since September 2012, initiated Regular Departmental Action (RDA) against 463 officials in 308 cases.

The Vigilance department of the Corporation received a total of 885 complaints as of August 29.. It shows that as per general perception, the Building department tops the list with a maximum of 62 per cent complaints being against its officials and staff. It is followed by the Health department, with 45 cases, which amounts to a mere 5 per cent. The Works department with 38 cases comes third in the list of departments, with a maximum number of complaints.

The Education department comes fourth with 32 cases, followed by the DEMS with 30 complaints. There are 26 against the Licensing department.

The least number of complaints were pending or received against the Law department: only two. There were only three against the Accounts department. Seven complaints each were received against the property tax and advertisement department. Similarly, after trifurcation, the NDMC took action (RDA) against 463 officials in 308 cases.
