A 40-year-old man, Band-hu Rai, died under mysterious circumstances in West Delhi’s Ranholla area.

The deceased was a resident of Samastipur, Bihar. He had returned to the city just two days back after marrying off his daughter in his village.

The deceased, a contractor dealing in the stone grinding business, lived in a flat in Vikas Nagar. Rai had just returned from his native village. The remai-ning members of his family had stayed back and were supposed to arrive in the city this Sunday.

Rai’s body was found in the morning by the labo-urers who worked with him. They reached his ho-use and knocked at his door, but did not get any response. After growing suspicious, they informed the police. Once they bro-ke into his house, they found Rai lying unconscious with blood oozing out of his nose. Furthe-rmore, some of his belongings were scattered across the room.

Rai’s body was sent for a post-mortem. Local residents alleged that they had told the police to wait for his family as they were supposed to arrive in Delhi, but the police still went ahead and shifted his body to the morgue. A forensic team also reached the spot and collected evidence from the scene.
