BJP: Why is Kejriwal defending his secy

Lashing out Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, the BJP on Saturday launched a series of questions towards him in regard to his principal secretary, whose office was raided by the CBI in an alleged corruption cases.

Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta said that the internal lokpal holds a proper inquiry before a decision is taken to assign responsibilities in the party and the government. “If it is so, what is the speciality observed in Rajender Kumar for not taking any action against him despite knowing the corruption cases he is involved in The chief minister made him his secretary in his two-time government and, considering his specialisation in corruption, promoted him and appointed his principal secretary in his government the second time,” he said.

Mr Gupta said that Transparency Internat-ional, in its letter written to the CM in September 2015, had apprised him that there were allegations of corruption against his principal secretary.

“Despite that the CM continued to cover up his involvement in corruption. Why the Delhi government has not suspended Kumar till today ” asked Mr Gupta. While working in VAT department, Mr Kumar cheated the government treasury of crores of rupees, he added.
