BJP turns to billboards to attack Kejriwal government
The war of words between the AAP and the BJP is now a war of billboards and advertisements.
The war of words between the AAP and the BJP is now a war of billboards and advertisements. After the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government released an advertisement in newspapers on Friday, the BJP attacked the AAP through billboards on Monday. The city walls witnessed posters alleging the AAP for non-payment of dues of three municipal corporations in Delhi.
On Monday, Delhiites woke up to walls covered with posters and billboards across the area requesting the Delhi government to release dues of the municipal corporations rather than spending “crores” on advertisements. “Please release Rs 13,235.13 crore of the three municipal corporations in Delhi at the earliest,” the poster read.
The billboard enlists that the Delhi government is yet to release East Delhi Municipal Corporation’s Rs 4,210.56 crore, while the North Delhi Municipal Corporation awaits the release of Rs 4,611 crore and South Delhi Municipal Corporation Rs 4,413 crore. Last week, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had released an advertisement across newspapers claiming that the corporations do not come under the Delhi government and hence it was not its responsibility. BJP’s national secretary R.P. Singh said, “To win the interest of Delhiites, the Delhi government is lying on all issues. The Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government has lost all grounds of morality.”
For the East Delhi corporation, the Delhi Tra-nsco has to relieve Rs 161 crore, power discoms have to pay '30 crore, the Delhi Jal Board Rs 25 crore, Delhi Metro Rs 18 crore, Municipal Reform Funds Rs 300 crore.
