BJP slams government on ‘extortion’ rackets
Accusing chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government of indulging in a blame game with lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung, the BJP said that Mr Kejriwal has failed to take action in the matters of Delhi
Accusing chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government of indulging in a blame game with lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung, the BJP said that Mr Kejriwal has failed to take action in the matters of Delhi minister Imran Hussain’s alleged involvement in an extortion racket.
The BJP said that Mr Hussain, who is also the Ballimaran MLA, is accused of demanding Rs 30 lakh from one of his constituents for allowing his 80-square-yard building to come up in the area.
Raising the issue of rampant corruption and financial bungling under the Kejriwal regime, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay accused Mr Kejriwal of non-action in the matters of Mr Hussain and former minister Asim Ahmed. They both have been involved in builders extortion rackets in Old Delhi, he said.
Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal while dropping Asim Ahmed from the Cabinet had said that he has been found involved in extortion threat, Mr Upadhyay said.
Even after realising that Delhi is in a crisis, he said that Mr Kejriwal is invested in playing the blame game. Earlier on Saturday, Mr Kejriwal accused the lieutenant-governor of impeding the work being done by the Delhi government. He had said that the decisions taken by the Delhi government are being rendered “null and void” by Mr Jung.
