After a high-level meeting chaired by deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, the Delhi government on Wednesday renamed the Barapullah Flyover as Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Setu.
The Delhi government has decided to name the flyover, linking the southern part of the city with East Delhi, after legendary Sikh warrior Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.
The government decision follows several representations demanding to name the flyover after the legendary Sikh warrior. History traces back his martyrdom at Mehrauli in Delhi.
“The meeting was attended by officials of the Urban development department and representatives of the Municipal Corporations of Delhi,” an official statement from the Delhi government said.
