A dramatic situation transpired at Jhandewaln Metro station on Saturday when a lady passenger said that her bag was missing when she went to retrieve it from the output roller of the X-BIS machine into which she had put it for scanning.

It was later found that a man had accidentally taken her bag. She got it back after about three hours with the help of CISF officials.

Sources said that on Saturday at about 6 pm a lady passenger approached the CISF official at the Jhandewaln metro station security point and informed him that her bag was missing.

The official informed his senior about the matter. who said that an unclaimed bag was lying at the X-BIS output roller, but the lady said that it did not belong to her.

A manual check in the presence of the station controller showed that there was a sum of Rs 1,83,700 and some documents inside the bag.

There was a contact number within of Arun Kumar, a resident of Panipat.

The CISF official contacted Mr Kumar, who infor-med them that he had mistakenly taken the wrong bag from the roller. He returned to Jhandewaln Metro station at about 8.54 pm and exchanged the bag with the lady’s after proper verification, said the official.
