With seats still remaining vacant, Delhi University on Wednesday had announced that it would be releasing three more cut-offs for admission to undergraduate courses for the academic year 2016-2017 with the sixth cut-off list being released on August 20. The admissions under the sixth cut-off will be conducted till August 22.
However, the varsity released the status of vacant seats category-wise for undergraduate admissions in different colleges on Thursday. While several top colleges have filled their seats for the popular courses, few colleges, including Gargi and Maitreyi, are still open for admissions to courses like Political Science, B.Com. Honours, and Physics with limited number of seats.
North Campus colleges like KMC is open for admission to English Honours with 3 seats, followed by Daulat Ram College and S.G.T.B. Khalsa with 1 and 3 seats, respectively.
Maximum seats are vac-ant in science courses, primarily in Physics Honours in several colleges, including Sri Venkateswara, Hindu and Hansraj, with 3, 3 and 1 seats, respectively.
It has already been a month since the varsity started the new academic session and this year the university had announced only five cut-off lists. The admissions for the vacant seats were conducted by merit system after the fifth cut-off as additional registrations. Registered students had to apply again for the seats left vacant and the university released a merit list for the same. The adm-issions under the merit system were over on August 16.
The seventh cut-off list will come on August 24 and admissions will take place till August 26. The eighth cut-off list will be out on August 29 and admissions under this cut-off will be completed on August 30.
