Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta has urged the Union home ministry to take a serious note of the alleged conspiracy hatched by AAP MLA Naresh Yadav in Punjab. Mr Gupta alleged that the AAP has played a dirty game by offering Rs1 crore to instigate riots by desecrating the Quran in Malerkotla, Punjab.

According to Mr Gupta, one of the three people, Vijay Kumar, caught in this criminal act clearly shows that they have done this at the behest of Mr Yadav, who, on June 22 in Delhi, offered them a huge sum of money to play with the sentiments of the people of Punjab. He met Mr Yadav three times in one week before the incident took place, Mr Gupta alleged.

“It shows the unholy greed of the AAP. Arvind Kejriwal wants to get power one way or the other. Their attempt to attack the harmony of the innocent people of Punjab cannot be pardoned. The AAP MLA should be sacked immediately and the Punjab police should put him behind the bars for such a criminal act,” added Mr Gupta.

Speaking at the BJP’s Mayur Vihar district executive committee meet, Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay called upon party workers to raise a campaign to expose corruption of Kejriwal government and the dirty politics being played by the party which is using the Muslim appeasement card for political expansion.

“With Kejriwal’s party entering the fray of Punjab elections, we are witnessing repeated incidents of desecration of religious books or attacks on the deras. Reports of Mr Yadav’s involvement in a religious flare-up case in Punjab is not new,” the Delhi BJP chief said.
