As part of its online campaign for Punjab elections, the AAP is highlighting the “Delhi’s development model”.

Even as chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s government is accusing lieutenant-governor Najeeb Jung of impeding development in the capital, an over 10-minute-long campaign video has Mr Kejriwal and his ministers claiming that Delhiites enjoy better public amenities since the AAP formed government last year.

“We stopped corruption in each of the Delhi government work. For instance, there was a Rs 350 crore flyover; we got it done for Rs 200 crore,” Mr Kejriwal says in the video. The Delhi CM and his deputy Manish Sisodia are also seen angrily pulling up government officials for their alleged lapses.

It is because of the cost effective execution of the public projects that the Delhi government has been able to make medicines available free of charge at public health facilities, Mr Kejriwal says. Followed by the CM’s claim, the campaign video shows that mohalla clinics have made healthcare more accessible for the people of Delhi.

Mr Kejriwal had recently taken on the L-G, saying that the Delhi government decision are being rendered “null and void” by him. “There have been a tug of war for the last three-four months. Our health secretary has been transferred,” he had said on Saturday, informing about the delay of about two to four months in setting up the proposed 1,000 mohalla clinics.

The campaign video sha-red by Mr Kejriwal on Tw-itter has happy Delhiites telling how the electricity bills have been halved, wa-ter bills are down to zero and condition of public schools have transformed ever since the AAP government came to power.

“If there is anyone who has understood the pain and agony of farmers in Delhi, it is the Kejriwal government,” a Delhi far-mer says. Mr Kejriwal, who is also the AAP chief, had announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 per hec-tare for farmers who lost their crop due to the incl-ement weather last year.

“The governments before us didn’t even accept that Delhi even has farmers,” deputy CM Manish Sisodia says in the video meant for the poll-bound state which is facing an agrarian crisis.
