Six minors held for stealing high-end bikes

With the apprehension of six juveniles in conflict with law, the Delhi police has busted a gang of juveniles who were involved in thefts of high-end bikes and scooters. The gang committed thefts in the garb of performing stunts on road. After stealing the vehicles, they used to go on joy rides and then abandon the vehicles in narrow streets of nearby areas.
“A team was constituted who closely studied the pattern of thefts and mother vehicles thefts in the area and observed that vehicles were mainly stolen between 1 am to 5 am. The information was further developed through CCTV footages, in which auto-lifters were captured while in act. The CCTVs were minutely watched and whole area of Rajouri Garden police station was duly barricaded in night. Thereafter, the police team tasted success when a scooty driven by two juveniles was stopped for checking at Tagore Garden Metro Station by a police team. On being asked to produce the documents of scooty, both the accused tried to mislead the police but during sustained examination, they broke down and confessed their involvement in several thefts along with their associates. With their help, three more juveniles were also apprehended and three scooties stolen from Rajouri Garden were recovered,” said Vijay Kumar, DCP (West).
Following their questioning, the mastermind was also apprehended and one Pulsar motorcycle stolen from Subhash Nagar was recovered, said Mr Kumar.
