Three persons died after the car they were travelling in was crushed by a speeding dumper near south Delhi’s IIT flyover. The driver of the dumper remains absconding.

Bodies of all the three deceased, one of them the owner of a cardboard designing company, were sent for the autopsy.

On Tuesday at about 9.40 pm, the cops said, Rajeev Suri (50), the owner of a cardboard company, along with his two employees Bablu Mehta (32) and Rupesh Mehta (25), was sitting inside his car parked near a petrol pump near IIT flyover when suddenly the driver of a dumper carrying sand tried to take a U-turn on the Outer Ring Road. “As the speed of the truck was not under the driver’s control, the vehicle toppled and fell on the car parked near the U-turn,” said the police, adding, “While the driver of the truck escaped from the spot after the mishap, a call to the police was made by a passerby.”

The police rushed to the spot and the three deceased were taken out of the car which was completely crushed. While one of them died on the spot, the two were declared brought dead at AIIMS. A case of negligent driving was filed at the Safdarjung Enclave police station.
