Kings XI Punjab lose senior Shaun Marsh

Australia’s run of injuries continued as Kings XI Punjab batsman Shaun Marsh has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL with a back injury.

The 32-year-old picked up the injury during his side’s six-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 19.

Marsh experienced some discomfort while batting and fielding during Kings XI’s recent win against Gujarat Lions and as a result he will head home for further assessment, ESPNcricinfo reported.

Marsh, who missed the side’s opening match with food poisoning, scored 159 runs in his six games for the team.

Kings XI are currently languishing at the bottom of the points table, having just two wins from seven games they have played so far.
