The Tatas estimate a revenue of Rs 2,650 crore in 2015-16, an increase of 7.5 per cent over the previous year, from their defence and aerospace division which in the last five years has seen its CAGR grow at 18 per cent.
Dr. Mukund Rajan, member, group executive council and brand custodian, Tata Sons said that it had contributed to build capabilities of the micro, small and medium enterprises to become part of the global supply chain. “Tata Power’s Strategic Engineering Division has about 750+ MSMEs in its vendor base and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd is working with over 65 key partners and suppliers in SME/MSME space.
Tata Power SED has been engaging with MSMEs as part of its supply chain for decades and has been developing the MSME eco-system in and around Vemagal, Karnataka where it is investing in its new manufacturing facility. Dr Rajan, who was briefing the media before the upcoming ninth edition of Defexpo India in Goa, said global quality and cost benchmarks were reflected in its new facility in Hyderabad.
