The highly anticipated Tata Bolt was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo and was launched in the Indian market within 12 months. Currently, the successor to the Indica Vista isn't clocking good sales and is in danger of extinction.
Reports had earlier claimed that the domestic carmaker has lost its faith in the Bolt, which has only managed a dismal 17,000 units till date. Despite being loaded with a number of features, including safety elements, the car could not compete with its segment leaders like the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Elite i20.
The homegrown automaker is said to concentrate its resources and efforts on the better selling Tiago hatchback that has garnered more than 30,000 orders up till August, since its launch in April. The car breached the 5,000 units sales mark in July and helped Tata Motors register a remarkable 43 per cent growth in the month.
