State Bank of India, the nation’s top lender by assets, has launched a new wealth management services unit, and a special branch to cater to startups.

While SBI ‘Exclusif’ is targeted at the fast-growing affluent segment in the country, SBI InCube would offer advisory services to the entrepreneurs under one roof from setting up of a company to issues related to taxation.

With this initiative, SBI aims to provide a comprehensive banking experience to customers. The bank on Thursday launched both the offerings in Bengaluru and will roll it out in other cities during the course of the year.

“Introducing wealth management services has been one of the bank’s top strategic priorities, as we have a number of HNI customers and potentially many more whose banking needs are more sophisticated and who require a highly specialised service delivery mechanism,” said SBI chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya.

SBI Exclusif offers an e-wealth centre to deliver relationship management services remotely for extended hours.

The country’s largest public sector bank has liaised with technology and product partners, to provide a suite of privilege products and lifestyle benefits for the target segment.

SBI InCube will cater exclusively to the growing banking needs of startups. The branch will offer products, such as liability products, asset products and services in foreign exchange, remittances, cash management etc.

Currently SBI has specialised branches for large corporate, in the form of corporate accounts group, mid-corporate in the form of mid-corporate accounts group and small and medium enterprise as National Banking Group.
