I-T raids Apollo Hospital offices

Sleuths from the income- tax department on Tuesday conduced raids and searches at 20 premises of belonging to Apollo Hospitals in Tamil Nadu.

When contacted, I-T officials confirmed that the raids had started this morning in the corporate offices and some properties of the corporate hospital chain. However, the officials refused divu-lge further details on scale of inquiry and details of possible seizure of documents.

“Searches are still on and we will get a detailed picture once the raids are over,” one officer said.

A statement from Apollo Hospitals said that the officials from the income-tax department visited our hospitals. “We exten-ded our complete cooperation to them. We have always conducted ourselves with the highest degree of diligence and would like to reassure our stakeholders that we shall uphold their trust and faith in us,” it said.
