Hyundai has unveiled the facelifted version of the second-generation i10 online in Europe. The car in India is referred to as the Grand i10. It will make its first public appearance at the upcoming 2016 Paris Motor Show. The second-generation i10 made its international debut in India in September 2013. The facelifted model of the car is expected to be launched in early 2017.
Design changes
On the inside, the hatchback will now be available in a new shade of red for the dashboard, apart from the existing blue and black ones from the previous model. However, in India, the Grand i10 is available solely with black and beige colour scheme for the dashboard and it is likely to remain same with the upcoming update as well. Notably, the 2017 i10 also features Hyundai’s brand new 7-inch infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. This unit might not be available in India with the Grand i10 facelift, but will eventually replace the current 7-inch unit offered with the Creta and the Elite i20.
There are no mechanical changes in the updated version of the i10 for the European market and it is expected to remain the same in India as well. The facelifted version will continue to offer a 1.2-litre petrol mill with 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions, along with the 1.1-litre diesel coupled to a 5-speed manual.
