Aaykar Setu has seen 10,000 downloads: CBDT

Arun Jaitley had launched 'versatile' mobile app on July 10 for all tax-related needs.

Income Tax department has launched Aakar Setu for all tax-related needs.

Mumbai: The Central Board of Direct Taxes or CBDT's Aaykar Setu mobile application, launched by finance ministry Arun Jaitley on July 10th, is getting more than 10,000 download a day, according to CBDT chairman Sushil Chandra.

The fresh offering by the central direct tax board makes doing tax related exercises much easier. It facilitates applying for a new or modified permanent account number or PAN card number. It also helps a taxpayer in tracking his or her TDS and at the same time make it easier for them to filing their returns.

 For the uninitiated, the Aaykar Setu mobile app is available on smartphones with Android 5.0 update and above. It can be downloaded from Google Play store or by giving a missed call to 7306525252.

A taxpayer can do following works using the Aaykar Setu mobile app:

-- Brings TRP at your doorstep

-- Makes your returns preparation easier

-- Provides you different tax tools

-- Makes tax payments easier for you.

-- Allows you to apply for PAN

-- Allows you to track TDS

-- Comes with a game 'Tax Gyaan' to teach you about taxes
