Mumbai: Cyrus Mistry who has already disputed and taken up his ouster from Tata Sons with National Company Law Tribunal may also challenge appointment of new Tata Sons chairman in a court of law, a report in The Economic Times said.

Details of as to what legal objections Mistry would raise through his petition were still not made obvious by him.

On January 12, Tata Sons board of directors convened a meet to appoint new chairman and came out with name of N Chandrasekaran of TCS as Mistry's successor.

Mistry despite being ousted as chairman on October 24 last year continues to remain director of Tata Sons. Being a director, Mistry also received agenda for the board of directors meet that took place on January 12.

The agenda threw hint that Tata Sons board was going to announce new chairman that angered Mistry who shot off a missive to the board.

Mistry did not attend the meeting as he considered appointment of new Tata Sons chairman was illegal at a time when “the issue of his ouster was still sub-judice”.
