Mumbai: Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani on Wednesday criticised US President Donald Trump's travel ban and said that India should not get swayed by such protectionist policies.

"The world may want to build walls, India must not be influenced by it, must remain open," CNBC-TV18 quoted Ambani as saying. 

According to Ambani Trump administration's harsh stand on H1-B visas might be a blessing in disguise for Indian IT companies as decision "will get Indian IT to focus on India's problems".

Ambani said that for an entrepreneur it was important to first find a problem to seek its solution. "Have learned that failures are normal. It's a step before you succeed," he told a gathering at the Nasscom Leadership Summit.

Ambani told wannabe entrepreneurs to safeguard investor money that was precious and for them protecting investors' money should come before protecting their own money.

"Mobile computing is the defining technology of this century. Aadhaar helped us (Reliance Jio) acquire a million customers a day," Ambani informed.
