Suzuki rides in Gixxer 250 at Rs 1.60 lakh

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 takes on the Yamaha FZ25 priced at Rs 1.34 lakh and the KTM 200 Duke at Rs 1.62 lakh.

PUNE: Suzuki Motorcycle, the Japanese bike maker, on Friday introduced the much awaited Suzuki Gixxer 250 naked motorcycle in India priced at Rs 1.60 lakh to boost sales.

The price is around Rs 10,800 cheaper than its faired siblings — the Gixxer SF 250 bike which was launched on May 25.

The Suzuki Gixxer 250 takes on the Yamaha FZ25 priced at Rs 1.34 lakh and the KTM 200 Duke at Rs 1.62 lakh.

The Gixxer 250 looks quite similar to its younger sibling, the Suzuki Gixxer 155. It has the same LED headlamp design, split seats, fuel tank shape and tank extensions. The bigger Gixxer, however, gets a prominent plastic belly pan. The digital instrument panel has negative LCD display unlike the white backlit LCD display on the smaller Gixxer.

"In the last five years, Gixxer brand has become synonymous with Suzuki's attributes of quality, style and performance," Koichiro Hirao, Company Head, Suzuki Motorcycle, said.
