Won’t act in sex comedies, but will distribute them

It was not too long ago that Riteish Deshmukh had sworn, in no uncertain terms, that he wouldn’t star in any more sex comedies. In fact, he declined to be part of the third installment in the Kya Kool Hain Hum franchise, citing its “vulgar content”. Riteish felt that raunchy films no longer suited his social standing as a husband and father.
However, we now hear that Riteish has purchased KKHH3 for the Maharashtra-Saurashtra territory at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crores.
“Riteish announced that he wouldn’t do KKHH3 and Aftab Shivdasani replaced him. Then Riteish decided to return to sex comedies with the third part of Grand Masti and has now even bought KKHH3 for distribution! The film was too vulgar for him to act in but not too vulgar for him to buy and distribute It’s like saying you don’t smoke because it’s bad for your health, but you don’t mind endorsing cigarettes,” a senior producer in the industry pointed out.
Riteish also has a special appearance in the upcoming Sunny Leone adult comedy Mastizaade. We had recently reported how the actor was miffed by the team’s decision to use his footage and voice in the film’s promotional trailer, although he had been promised that his appearance would be kept under wraps as a surprise element. Riteish had later tweeted about the issue as well.
