Why is Richa Chadda taking Punjabi lessons

The actress who won several accolades for her performance in Masaan is now warming up to another role of substance. She has a pivotal role in Omung Kumar’s biopic Sarabjit, where she plays the role of Sarabjit Singh’s wife.

In the film, Richa is supposed to speak a very specific dialect of Punjabi and for that she needs to take a few lessons. The actress has already started to take lessons and she’s also watching a few Punjabi films to perfect the character.

That perhaps solves the mystery behind why, being a Punjabi, Richa is still having to take some extra lessons.
