After Noor Jehan and Suraiya, who sang their own songs for films, it was only recently that actresses took to playback themselves. Following the footsteps of Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra in the recording room this time is Parineeti Chopra. The actress will be seen crooning with Ayushmann Khurrana for a duet in their next film Meri Pyaari Bindu.

Talking about her singing debut the actress said, “We’re both keen students of singing. So a duet is only natural. In fact we’re both constantly singing loudly on the sets to remind the director Akshay Roy that we’re waiting to sing our duet.” It’s good that so many of us are singing for ourselves. I may not have the perfect voice but I know my capabilities. I know my voice and how to project emotions with it. When I sing for myself I sing how I feel.”
