The Ayushmann-Bhumi starrer Manmarziyan that was being directed by Sameer Sharma will now be taken over by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari of Nil Battey Sannata fame. After Dum Lagaa Ke Haisha, this is the second time Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar will be sharing the screen.

The film had a weeklong schedule in Simla and the producer had liked the portions. Next the team moved to Amritsar for the next leg of the shoot. But when producer Aanand L. Rai saw the rushes of the Amritsar portions, he didn’t like them and called off the shoot.

According to a source, the director and producer mutually decided to part ways on the project owing to creative differences. When contacted, director Sameer said, “I have immense respect for Aanand and we are in touch. Yes, our creative vision didn’t match this time and such things happen in filmmaking. I would love to collaborate with him in future.”

Producer Aanand L Rai remained unavailable for comment. The next leg of the shoot helmed by Ashwiny is likely to begin by the end of July.
