For the last 17 years, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival has played a key role in introducing visual art to the layman.

For the last 17 years, the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival has played a key role in introducing visual art to the layman. This year, the festival had twice the number of installations, since the “venue” has expanded its space to include a few spots in the city — the installations are now placed across Rampart Row, Cross Maidan, David Sassoon Library and Museum Garden. With the theme for the year as Crossing the Threshold, the works include Nayna Soparkar’s Chhoti Rickshaw Baddi Savari, which celebrates the iconic three-wheeler; Seema Kohli’s Cutting Chai, which denotes the idea of dialogue, and Aditi Babel’s The Phoenix, which signifies freedom of thoughts and ideas which will transform over time.
