Designed by jewellery designer Ginza Tanaka, in Shinsaibasi, Osaka, Japan, this tree was enhanced with 240 rare and priceless gems. Valued at $1.6 million, it was decorated with 24 carat gold and further enhanced with pearls and diamonds that were of a total weight of 46 pounds.

A seven-star hotel in Abu Dhabi, the Emirates Palace hotel, houses the most expensive tree in the world. Valued at more $11 million, the 13-metre fake evergreen tree is located in the hotel’s lobby. Decorated with silver and gold bows, ball-shaped ornaments and small white lights, the tree is adorned with necklaces, earrings and other jewellery draped over its branches.
