Users can save their snaps from 2017 into a story that can be shared.

The feature might not work for those who have not been uploading enough snaps to the memories section.

Looks like this time Snapchat has been inspired by a Facebook feature and has come out with their own version of it. A step which is usually the other way round.  Snapchat now has a feature that reviews memories of 2017. Last year, Snapchat had introduced a way for users to save snaps into a memories section where the post will stay past 24 hours.

In order to use the new feature, users can tap the memories icon at the bottom of the screen and select 'A Look Back at 2017'. A 'Story' is created by automatically assembling snaps. Users may also edit the story by tapping the 'X' to delete the snaps they do not wish to include. Once done, the Snap can be saved and sent to friends.
