Abortion hurdles

A rape victim who is pregnant with her ex-fiancé’s child and is from an economically weak background moved the court to allow her an abortion since the fetus suffers from severe brain abnormalities. But doctors refused to abort it as the law prohibits abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. It is sad that laws deny women the right to take decisions about a potentially life-threatening pregnancy. This when the victim will not be able to support the needs of a special child on her own.
